The reason we at Kintetsu know Japan so well can be found in our past, and our present. Kintetsu International was founded in 1910 as a part of Osaka Electric Railway. As Japan’s railways grew so did Kintetsu, venturing into buses, trucking, air freight, taxis, car rental companies, department stores, super markets, manufacturing, real estate, hotel chains and then onto the travel and hospitality business. We know Japan because we helped build it! To this day, Kintetsu actively sponsors what makes Japan unique, whether in the Arts, History or the Sciences.

Our parent company, Kinki Nippon Tourist, headquartered in Tokyo, was founded in 1955. Today, KNT is one of the top full service travel agencies in the world, with over 350 branches worldwide and annual sales revenue in the billions. In 1965, Kintetsu’s first branch in the US opened in San Francisco. Currently, we have strategically placed branches in the US with over 100 employees. Our agency consistently ranks in the Top 50 Travel agencies by Travel Weekly. Kintetsu is proudly listed on the Tokyo stock exchange as Kintetsu World Express Inc (9375: Tokyo).
